So with out further ado, here are the several projects that I have finished over the past couple months.
First is a jewelry/keepsake box:
This is a necklace I made as a Christmas gift for a gift exchange:
A close up of the necklace:
These are some Post-It note stands that I made. I have to confess, I did not come up with this on my own. I stole it from the blog Kerry's Paper Crafts. I would link the blog, but I am to lazy. I will admit that hers were much prettier than mine.
These are some Christmas ornaments that I made out of polymer clay:
That is my freakishly white hand holding the ornament.
This a bracelet I made...actually I made two one for each sister. My sisters have this thing for animal print.
Last but not least is a polymer clay robin I made. D's fourteen year old cousin's mom died several years ago. Her name was Robin and DH suggested I make this for his cousin K, in memory of his mom.
Here ends my very overdue update. I promise that I will try to update more often. I have almost finished my wedding jewelry so hopefully I will post that soon.
Wow, I am super impressed with the box! It looks like maybe a ribbon around the edge, but is the top hand painted? It's gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteHow do you finish your clay? It looks like it's been fired in a kiln...
Great work!
Yes it is a ribbon around the edge. The top is hand painted. It is actually just a plain wood box from the dollar store. I just painted it and added the ribbon.
ReplyDeleteThe polymer clay is super easy to finish. I just bake it in the oven at around 250F for thirty minutes (or less depending on how thick the item is) and then I used a glaze to give it shine. The glaze just air dries.
I'll try to include more info on the process next time.
